Suicide Italy: yes, the Catastrophe Party won

They did it again: them, the breakers. The 5 Star Movement, a sensational mass political deception, has managed to convince the Italians: "less is more". Less democracy, less representation, less space for freedom and dissent. From now on, the parliamentarians - reduced by a third - will be even further away from the voters and even more tied to party bosses. Obviously, by a barracks movement that systematically expelled anyone who dared to express a different thought: zero tolerance, for ideas elaborated autonomously. The outcome of the referendum confirming the worst constitutional reform in republican history is a masterpiece, for a great statesman of the caliber of Luigi Di Maio, a man-symbol of Italy in disarray who has managed to settle in Palazzo Chigi no less than Giuseppe Conte, the little man who has locked the citizens at home for almost three months, under the pretext of Covid, sinking the economy. The great work of the Amatrician revolutionaries: to put the leadership of the government in the hands of a frontman of the most ancient and historically less democratic Italian power, that of the Vatican.

Independent observers like Paolo Barnard, Alessandro Meluzzi and Federico Dezzani - very different from each other - had said it from the beginning: the psycho-movement created by Gianroberto Casaleggio together with Enrico Sassoon, a member of an important family linked to the Rothschilds since the eighteenth century, was nothing more than a sort of "psy-op", an illusionistic operation of great power. Objective: to intercept the growing popular exasperation, diverting dissent towards harmless shores. In other words: a colossal misunderstanding, built to deceive voters. According to Dezzani, the 5 Stars Movement was the natural continuer of Antonio Di Pietro (whose electorate he inherited) and of the Operation-Tangentopoli, with which the First Republic was broken by judicial means. Fundamental, Clean Hands, to allow the predators of Italy to extend their hands over the Belpaese. Symbolic event of that season: the party aboard the yacht Britannia, with the elite of Anglo-Saxon finance. On board the Britannia there was also Beppe Grillo: Emma Bonino, who was present, said so (then) also Enrico Mentana.

Always presented as a former comedian, back from noisy shows played very skillfully against the abuses of power, Grillo had actually grown up in the shadow of Christian Democrat power. Meluzzi remembers him, according to which the future leader of the Grillini militated in that left DC that was chosen, as a minority partner of the former PCI, to give life - through the Olive tree - to that Italian caste destined to be enslaved to the strong foreign powers. The pact: we entrust the government to you, on the condition that you cede the heart of the national economy to private individuals. Berlusconi then came to shed his cards, and it was precisely anti-Berlusconism that swelled the grilline ranks, thanks to the charisma of Grillo and the "visionary" ability of Casaleggio. The country collapsed under the blows of Monti, after the ephemeral meteor Renzi it was up to the 5 Stars to bear the burden of the government, and so the trouble started - for them, and for the Italians. If the budget of the pentastellati is catastrophic, both on the political-electoral level and on the governmental level, the same cannot be said for their possible hidden principals, always if we trust the conspiracy analysis of their detractors. It is a fact, however: with the grillini in government (and their man on loan, Conte), Italy has further weakened in a frightening way, and today it is practically on its knees. Mission accomplished, then?

The cut of parliamentarians - required for a populist instinct, rhetorically anti-political and therefore undemocratic, without an overall reorganization of the institutions - has never pleased the real parties on the field, from the PD to the League. Salvini bowed to the unfortunate proposal of the 5 Stars in 2018, to keep together the then executive, and now Zingaretti bowed, always to keep the government alliance alive. To limit the damage, as we have seen, were not enough the explanations of vote against, in favor of the No, expressed by leghisti as Borghi, Bagnai and Giorgetti, and by representatives of the center-left as the oliveists Prodi and Parisi, not to mention Veltroni himself, founder of the PD. Twenty years of Vaffa and lynching towards politicians have hit the target: to weaken politics, therefore democracy. They celebrate shamelessly "halved" journalists such as Travaglio and Scanzi, great sponsors of Grillo and Conte: they too have won. Italy is ko, but patience. As the old hospital adage says: the operation was successful, even if the patient died. Di Maio, the most embarrassing minister ever, won. He won the Catastrophe Party, even though he betrayed all the electoral promises, halving his votes. He won Conte, the lockdown man who has crucified the country. Even the Italians, those who voted Yes, are convinced that they have won.
