And 'game hunting to 17 billion for fiscal consolidation by 2013. Why not
start giving up to spend 16 billion for the purchase of 131 unnecessary
fighter?
To anticipate a balanced budget by 2013, the Italian Government must recover
suffered 17 billion euros. Where to find them? The answer comes from the palaces of
politics is sadly obvious: cutting pensions. As if there were
alternatives.
We recall that many years would be enough to cancel the program of military spending by
16
billion for the acquisition of F-35 fighter 131.
Strike aircraft 'stealth' (invisible to radar) latest generation, judged
a whim technology strategically useless by many military experts. Certainly not by
companies where the mad project ensures succulent orders: Alenia Aeronautica,
Datamat, Galileo Avionica, Selex Communications, Sirio Panel, Oto Melara (all of
Finmeccanica), Gemini, Logic, Mecaer, Moog, Oma, Avio, Piaggio, Air, According to Mona,
Sicamb, S3log.
Critics may argue that the cancellation of the program would immediately
available 'only' 3.6 billion euros (between now and the budget allocated for 2013), no
all 16. True. But what interests us here is to emphasize the symbolic aspect of
the huge amount of money, in fact, already taken for spending, and the concrete
possibility to operate
different choices: deeply political, not purely financial.
More painful cuts in social spending could also be avoided by choosing to
stop spending - already planned for 2011 - for the purchase of one hundred and sixteen
helicopters
NH-90 assault (310 million), two new submarine U-212 (164 million) and sixteen
helicopters CH-47 troop transport (137 million) and to put an end to the missions
War in Afghanistan (800 million per year) and Libya (hundreds of millions in a few
months).
